So, what could a large safety pin, a golf pencil and a tumbtack have in common? Could those junk drawer items save the lives of nearly two dozen people? Maybe, maybe not.๐งทIt is in the story! Get the book! โ โ โ
A fun read! A suspenseful, fascinating story with lots of humor, lots of adventure, lots of characters, and lots of words! It's an incredible accomplishment!โ โ โ โ โ
An exciting and suspenseful drama of travelers that find themselves victims of a blizzard and subsequent vehicle pile up in a monstrous snowdrift ... and they are out of cell phone range in the middle of remote Kansas. Do they gamble with leaving their vehicles and going for help and risk freezing to death, sit and wait until the gas runs out and they all freeze to death anyway, or pray the incoming blaze of triple highway snowplows doesn't grind them off the road burying them until spring thaw.
Or do they put their heads together and find an obscure solution to their problem?
What is it about? "A-Drift on the Road"
You will almost feel the snow flying by as you follow the vehilces ahead. You know the feeling of hitting a little snow drift and fishtailing a little, getting stuck, or worse coming upon a pile-up of other vehicles that have slid into each othe. If you have experienced it, you are gonna love this book! If you haven't you'll get to experience it! A little drama, a little suspense, and a lot of humor sprinkled in like so much rock salt to melt the tension.

The author's writing style is fluid, realistic, and totally engrossing. Her descriptions of the scenes are so believable and intense I had to keep reminding myself to relax! My favorite aspect of the book is the author's ability to transport the reader into the story. Another thing to appreciate is the author's sense of humor, She diffuses the tension...with humor.
Goodreads
There were a lot of characters. Writing a book and including a lot of characters that have unique characteristics with each other was incredible. I salute the author for that!I don't want to describe every character because I want this to be a spoiler-free review, but I would say that the character growth of each of the characters was amazing. My favorite was Agnes. I love her personality. She has a soft side and a strong side. And I really love that...Did I say that already? Well, yes! Because I really love her character. She was amazing.
When you based it on the writing, I know that the author did her research. Her research and experience reflected on the writing and the story. The characters attitudes, the places, cars, and everything. I love how the author wrote every detail. From Nick to Auggie, (the attention to age, gender and attitudes) it was awesome.
The plot was unique, I haven't read anything like this before so I really love that. I actually hate it when "I read this before" or "the story seems familiar" happens. That's why I really appreciate this book.

I certainly got caught up in the characters and storyline from the get-go! The author has created multiple characters, interesting all, and brought them together in a fascinating tale of survivorship. In this day and age of so much division, it was so refreshing to find folks from all walks of life working together... And - the author has a great sense of humor - don't overlook the "alternate" ending.

A spectacular read! This novel has it all: great, vibrant and realistic characters. A wonderfully woven plot where no detail is left out. A story that keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens, and comedy. And it was also heartfelt and real. You can tell this author thought everything through and that she put in a ton of time and research to make every detail accurate and believable. Truly an impressive work! This book would be a great read for everyone, no matter what genre you typically like, no matter your age or gender or what have you. A remarkable piece of literature! Bravo!

Serious crazy suspense and reality and terror and WOW!Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2021Its hard to describe the way these travelers with diverse personalities come together in the scariest and COLDEST circumstances. I was glued to this book and if you like thrillers with attitude, check it out, you won't be disappointed.

If you want to breeze through a story quickly, this may not be the best book for you. The story is 432 pages, at 138,000 words, so it's not a quickie. You'll get your money's worth in my carefully crafted characters and the totally different way I've written the story. Most of the characters have their own little story at the beginning within the overall story. You will love them or hate them but you sure as heck will get to know them as you are getting little character "books" within the big fiction book. And it's not exactly total fiction, it is more of "reality fiction" as one reviewer commented. All the nearly unbelievable things are real, do-able and well researched....and FUN and mind-blowingly amazing! "A-Drift" is written with well defined colorful characters that are traveling into an eventual pileup in a mega-drift of suspense, snow, blizzard, adventure, humor, and an insanely surprising ending!
